Preconference Workshops
The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is an introductory, 2-day course providing a comprehensive overview of fundraising principles at the fundamental level. The AFP Global course curriculum covers the roles and responsibilities of fundraisers, with emphasis on responsibilities you are likely to encounter at the beginning of your career.
The course is taught in an active learning style and includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. Our Fundamentals in Fundraising course faculty are:

- Carrie Collins, MSA, MBA, CFRE - Senior Director, Philanthropy Engagement at YMCA of the USA

- Heather Egan, CFRE - Chief Philanthropy Officer at Novant Health Foundations
- LaDaniel Gatling, M.A. - Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations at Guilford College
- Gail Perry, MBA, CFRE - President at Gail Perry Group
- Shannon Neal, CFRE - Individual Giving Manager at Trellis Supportive Care
The course is taught in an active learning style and includes mini case studies ("caselets") for group discussion, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. Our CFRE Refresher course faculty are:
